ACT u14 boys win national title
Last weekend, in Tuggeranong, ACT Handball hosted the u14&u16 National Championships in both the boys and girls divisions.
Nine teams and around 140 athletes and officials took part in the annual event which started on Friday and finished on Sunday afternoon.
ACT claimed their second national title for the year (after the win by the u18 girls in Brisbane in June) when the u14 boys defeated Queensland in the final 12:6. The win made more impressive by the fact that the boys from Canberra were the only undefeated team in the tournament.
In the u16 categories, NSW took out the boys title, whilst Queensland edged out NSW by one goal to win the girls division.
The competition in the girls u16 category was very strong with only two goals seperating teams at the end of 4 rounds of competition.
