ACT Men claim third spot at National Championships

Dragan Radicoski breaks through to score durin ACT's semi-final clash against Victoria.

The ACT men’s team took out the third spot at this year’s National Championships in Perth, after going down to Victoria 20:25 in their semi-final clash at the Joondalup Arena on Saturday. Their third placement was decided on count-back, against Queensland, based on the first round win for ACT.

The team won a direct spot into the semi-final after unexpectedly topping group 2 with victories over Queensland and Western Australia. They had a great start to the game against Victoria as well, racing-off to a 3-1 lead early in the match, but Victoria took control of the game soon after and lead for the rest of the match, to secure a place in the final.

In group 2, NSW had no trouble taking the first spot, easily accounting for Victoria 32:20 and South Australia 27:13. A 33:17 semi-final win over Queensland set the blues for a final clash against Victoria.
