ACT opens with a win

ACT’s under 18 boys started their 2010 National Championships campaign with a 16:12 win over Queensland, this morning at Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush.

Although Queensland scored first, the ACT boys were quick to reply with three goals to build an early lead, which they maintained for the remainder of the match.

ACT captain Luke Behrendorff top scored with five goals but Jordan Chapman stood out with an exceptional performance and decisive goals.

In the other u18s match, NSW A had little trouble overcoming the B team of NSW, winning 23:11.

ACT faces the favourites NSW's A team in their next match, due to start at 11:30 today.
