NSW boys too strong for ACT
Defending champions, NSW dominated their game against ACT, winning 38:19, in the boys’ category in Canberra today. ACT stayed in contention for about 20 minutes of the game, thanks to some amazing long-range shooting by their 2.03 metre back, Matt Cechet.
The last five minutes of the first half was one way traffic in NSW’s favour, as right-back Lachlan Skulander tore apart the ACT defence with aggressive breakthroughs and pinpoint shooting. The left-hander was also one of the stand-out players at last year’s event.
ACT found the going more difficult in the second half and suffered from a series of two-minute suspensions, including three for Mat Cechet, who picked up 12 goals in the game. NSW taking advantage of extra room in attack to increase their lead.
For NSW Lachlan Skulander and centre-back Dylan Bindczus stood out, also 12 goals each.
