ACT starts with a loss to NSW

ACT's Sarah Carter attempts a long range shot in the game against NSW

Last year’s champions, NSW defeated the less experienced ACT side 26:6 (10:1 at the break), today in Canberra.

ACT took a long time to get on the board, and before Sarah Carter scored her team’s first goal, ACT was 7:0 down.

From then on, NSW continued their domination of the game and at one stage had a nine-goal scoring spree. ACT had several more chances to get on the score-board but NSW keeper, Kate Nolan, held them away with a string of saves.

Queensland will need to better the 20 goal margin against ACT, later today, for a direct spot in tomorrow’s final.
