Winning form continues

Canberra defeated Hills Heat 36:28 yesterday at Olympic Park in Sydney to remain at the top of the League ladder for the fifth consecutive week. 

Ten minutes into the game, the scores were even with eight goals each but a 10:1 streak by Canberra, doubled the score to 18:9 in their favour.

From then on, Hills managed to match Canberra goal for goal but couldn’t do enough to narrow the first half deficit.

For Canberra, Taip Ramadani and Daniel Doering top-scored with 13 and 8 goals respectively. Whilst for Hills, Richard Ridley had another strong performance with 11 goals.

Earlier, Sydney Uni Gold thrashed a struggling Harbourside 38:26 despite another ten goal spree by national team member Michael Thomas.

In the remaining match of the round, 17 year old left-back Ognjen Matic top scored with seven goals for Sydney Uni Blue to help his team overcome Hills Blaze 31:14.
