Convincing win over Uni Blue
The Canberra club had little trouble overcoming Sydney Uni Blue, at home today, winning with a seventeen goal margin.
Uni Blue suffered a setback when key players were forced to abandon their trip, after a traffic accident as they set-off from Sydney. Uni’s woes continued in the first few minutes of the game when captain Gilles Guillemin was rushed to hospital with a suspected fractured finger.
Despite Uni Blue’s misfortunes, Canberra had a slow start to the game failing to build a convincing lead. It wasn’t until last few minutes of the first half, when a series of goals By Daniel Doering and Sasha Petrovski set Canberra on its way to their fifth win of the season.
Sasha Petrovski showed his versatility by playing one of his best games for Canberra so far, from the line. Sasha, who normally plays wing, stepped into the pivot position today and had little trouble adapting to the change, scoring six goals.
Canberra's top scorer though, was again the reliable power-back Maciej Krawczyk, who added another ten goals to his season's tally. Maciej is now on 62 goals from just five games played.
