Down, but not out

Canberra HC has lost its third consecutive match to Hills Heat, going down 17:26 on home turf.

Hills started the match far more aggressively than the home side, punishing Canberra's lack of early focus with a barrage of goals. Hills winger Dominic Tsang lead the way with two quick goals in the opening minutes which saw Hills leading 0:4. The home side managed to recover from its initial set back, clawing its way back to a half time score of 7:10.

Canberra reverted to a 6:0 defense after the break, having trialled a 3:2:1 defense for the majority of the first half. Again, the home side seemed to suffer during the second half's opening minutes with Hills scoring four unanswered goals. Canberra replied late in the half with Taip Ramadani and Rob Lans also scoring four goals unanswered goals between them. However, Canberra's late game enthusiasm and tightened defense were a case of too little too late, with the visitors ending the game 9 point victors.

16 year old Kerry Olesen made his debut for Canberra, playing a menacing role on the left wing.

Canberra HC will take the lessons learned from the first 3 rounds of competition and look to apply them against the Harbourside Titans who they face in Canberra on June 20th.

The scheduled second division match against Hills Flare was forfeited by the visitors, giving Canberra a 10:0 win by default.
