ACT u18s girls start with a loss to NSW B

The under 18 ACT girls lost to NSW B in their opening game of the national junior championships, 12:8, despite a very strong start to the game.  The teams were evenly matched for the first half which ended in a one-goal lead for NSW (7:6).

ACT then found the going tough against a well organised NSW defence, in a very low scoring half. ACT's defence was equally impressive in the second half, keeping NSW to only five goals, however fund it difficult to convert in attack.

Mariel Soulard was ACT’s top scorer with four goals.

ACT will meet NSW A in the next game.
