Sydney Uni defeats Canberra again

The Canberra Handball Club had a chance to redeem last week’s loss to Sydney Uni, today in Sydney, but fell short again in their postponed first round game, going down 26:17 (13:10 at the break).

The game was played during a break in play at the junior national championships, being held in Sydney.

Canberra managed to stay within reach of Sydney Uni for most of the first half but found the going tough in the second half, falling behind by five goals in the first ten minutes after the break.

Rob Lans was again in good from, scoring seven goals for Canberra. Canberra was  missing several players through injuries as well as left back Tommy Fletcher, who returned to Sweden last week.  Left-hander Jeremy Schoen made his first appearance for Canberra. The 24 year old wing recently moved to Canberra from France.
