Canberra and Hills share the points

Canberra right wing, Jeremy Schoen goes up for a shot

Canberra recovered from a four-goal deficit, in the first half, to draw Hills Heat on Saturday in Sydney, 27:27 (11:13 at the break).

Hills had a four goal lead (12:8) near the end of the first half but Canberra fought back to stay in close contention and even took the lead.  Canberra went ahead ten minutes into the second-half but Hills quickly regained the lead. The remainder of the match was a goal-for-goal contest with neither team capable of taking control.

Hills had a chance to a two-goal win but a save from keeper Curtis Eitzen from an open shot, gave Canberra a chance for a draw which Rob Lans made the best of, scoring on a fast break, to bring the scores level and share the points.

Richard Ridley, who came to Canberra from Hills, top scored in the match with 8 goals followed by Hills' left wing Luka Krajnc with 7.

Canberra will host Hills' second division team Blaze on Saturday, at Woden starting at 13:00.
