Rooks take out the ACT title

Rooks avenged their last year's final loss to Thunder, to take the ACT Men’s competition 25:24 today at Canberra University.

Rooks started off strongly going to a 10:4 lead early in the game but Thunder fought back minute-by-minute, for the rest of the match, to reduce the deficit. The team lead by Canberra club’s Sasha Petrovski seemed in control for most of the game but with only minutes left in play Thunder struck back with a series of unanswered goals.

In the end, luck and time ran out for the Thunder allowing Rooks to take their first ACT title.

Thunder’s Andrew Lawrence took out the top-scorers prize, a new handball from Select’s ™ latest range.
