Trivia night a spectacular success
The Canberra Handball Club's first ever Trivia Night was a spectacular success, with all in attendance having a thoroughly enjoyable time. MC for the night was the charismatic Rob Lans who not only ensured that the night went as smoothly as possible but kept the participants engaged and entertained, not least through his skills as a joke teller.
Participants keen for a competitive night of A-grade trivia were not disappointed, with seven thematically diverse rounds of questions unfolding over the course of the night. Up for grabs was an assortment of fantastic prizes, with the top three place-getters each walking away with a box full of gifts kindly donated from local businesses.
A collection of mini-games spread throughout the night ensured that those who were less trivially inclined could get their hands on a prize, with many players leaving with bottles of wine. As well as this, two auctions and a raffle were run, with the lucky winners picking up a rare 2004 Australian Olympic Handball shirt and batons from the 2006 Commonwealth games, to name only some of the prizes on offer.
As the primary fund-raising event for the Canberra Handball Club the night proved very successful, raising in excess of $3000 for the club. ACT Handball Association and Canberra Handball Club would like to thank all those who attended for so enthusiastically supporting the event.
